AhlulBayt News Agency: Power outages in Aden, controlled by the Saudi-led coalition, have now extended to 19 hours daily, leaving residents with only 90 minutes of electricity supply as temperatures continue to rise.
A local source reported that all power plants in the city are completely out of service, except for the Petromasila plant, which is generating power inconsistently, producing no more than 65 to 70 megawatts.
The source confirmed that Aden’s actual electricity demand stands at approximately 700 megawatts, while the current shortfall of around 630 megawatts has led to a near-total collapse of the power grid.
The crisis has been attributed to the depletion of diesel and mazut fuel in the storage tanks of power plants, with no action taken by coalition countries to provide the necessary fuel and resolve the issue.
Since last week, Aden has witnessed growing public unrest due to prolonged power outages and worsening living conditions, exacerbated by the collapse of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies.
